Dr. Fouzia Saeed was born on the 3rd of June, 1959, in Lahore, Pakistan. She received most of her school and early college education in Peshawar, and she graduated from the University of Peshawar as the Gold Medalist in 1979. She then spent 8 years at the University of Minnesota in the United States, where she earned her Doctorate in Education. Dr. Fouzia returned to her native land immediately after completing her PhD, but she has continued to enjoy travelling, and has visited more than 50 countries so far. She currently lives in Islamabad with her husband, Paul Lundberg, who she met in Islamabad when they were both working in the United Nations.
Other than Pakistan, Paul and Fouzia have also lived together in Manila and Cairo. She learned how to SCUBA dive while in Manila and has dived in the Bahamas, the Mergui Archipelago of Burma, Fiji, and various islands of the Philippines.
Aspects of traditional culture that emancipate women have been the foundation of her life. She considers the performing arts to be balancing factor in her overly busy life. She particularly enjoys listening to live classical music and performing Pakistani folk dances.
